Keyboard Shortcuts
This page lists every keyboard shortcut that Evidor responds to. Shortcuts are grouped by category.
Playback
| Space | Play or pause |
| Shift Space | Play from the start, or from the start of the loop section |
| J | Reverse playback. Press again while reversing to increase the speed. |
| K | Pause |
| L | Forward playback. Press again while playing forward to increase the speed. |
| Shift J | Slow reverse (0.5x) |
| Shift L | Slow forward (0.5x) |
| Home | Go to the start |
| End | Go to the end |
| ← | Previous frame |
| → | Next frame |
| Esc | Stop playback |
Editing
| Ctrl Z | Undo |
| Ctrl Y | Redo |
| Ctrl Shift Z | Redo (alternative binding) |
| Ctrl X | Cut the selected clips |
| Ctrl C | Copy the selected clips |
| Ctrl V | Paste at the playhead |
| S | Split the selected clip at the playhead |
| Delete | Delete the selected clips |
| Backspace | Delete the selected clips |
| Shift Delete | Ripple delete: delete the clips and close the gap |
| C | Enter crop mode |
Markers and in / out
| I | Set the in point at the playhead |
| O | Set the out point at the playhead |
| Shift I | Clear the in and out points |
| Shift O | Clear the in and out points |
| M | Add a marker at the playhead |
| Shift M | Remove the nearest marker |
| Ctrl ← | Jump to the previous marker |
| Ctrl → | Jump to the next marker |
Keyframes
| Shift ← | Jump to the previous keyframe |
| Shift → | Jump to the next keyframe |
Looping
| Ctrl L | Toggle the in / out loop |
| Ctrl Shift L | Toggle the loop section |
Project
| Ctrl N | New project |
| Ctrl O | Open a project |
| Ctrl S | Save the project |
| Ctrl I | Import media |
| Ctrl E | Open the export dialog |
Multicam
| 1 | Cut to camera 1 |
| 2 | Cut to camera 2 |
| 3 | Cut to camera 3 |
| 4 | Cut to camera 4 |
The number keys only work when the current clip belongs to a multicam group. Otherwise they are ignored.
Captions and transcript
| T | Open the transcript dialog |
| Shift C | Open auto captions |
Compound clips
| Ctrl Shift G | Create a compound clip from the selection |
| Ctrl Shift U | Ungroup a compound clip |
| Esc | Exit the current compound clip |
Zoom and navigation
| Ctrl + scroll | Zoom the timeline in or out |
Dialogs and menus
| Esc | Close the current dialog or menu |
| ↑ ↓ | Move between items in an open menu |
| Home | Jump to the first item in an open menu |
| End | Jump to the last item in an open menu |
| Enter | Activate the focused item |
Mouse
| Click on clip | Select the clip |
| Shift / Ctrl + click | Add the clip to the selection |
| Drag on empty lane | Draw a marquee selection |
| Drag clip middle | Move the clip |
| Drag clip edge | Trim the clip |
| Drag fade handle | Add or remove a fade |
| Right-click clip | Open the clip context menu |
| Right-click track head | Open the track context menu |
| Right-click ruler | Open the ruler context menu |
| Shift + drag on ruler | Define a loop section |
