This Agreement governs your use of the Evidor software ("Evidor"), including its source code, user interface, documentation, and any accompanying files. Bundled third-party components are covered separately. See the "Third-party components" section below.

You are granted permission to:

1. Use Evidor for any purpose, personal or commercial.
2. Distribute unmodified copies of Evidor, provided that this Agreement is included with every copy, the software itself is not sold, and no fee is charged beyond the cost of the media and distribution.
3. Modify Evidor for personal, non-public use, including creating derivative works for your own private use.

You are NOT permitted to:

1. Distribute, publish, share, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise make available any modified version of Evidor, or any substantial portion of its source code, in any form, whether in source code or compiled form, whether free of charge or for a fee.
2. Claim authorship or ownership of Evidor, or represent Evidor as your own work, in whole or in part.
3. Use the Evidor name, logo, or branding to endorse, promote, or name a derivative work, product, or service without prior written permission from the copyright holder.
4. Remove, alter, or obscure this Agreement, or any copyright notice, from any copy of Evidor.

Evidor bundles the following third-party components:

• FFmpeg - used for transcoding, proxy generation, and export. FFmpeg is licensed under the LGPL v2.1 or later, or the GPL v2 or later, depending on the build. The static build shipped with Evidor is the GPL build. A copy of the applicable license is included with the installer.
• FFprobe - used for media inspection. Distributed under the same terms as FFmpeg.
• Electron - the application framework. Licensed under the MIT license.
• Font Awesome Free - icons. Licensed under the Font Awesome Free License, which combines CC BY 4.0 for the icons, SIL OFL 1.1 for the fonts, and MIT for the code.

Third-party components are not covered by the restrictions in this Agreement. Each retains its own license terms, and those terms take precedence for the respective component.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
